The Royal Oak, Paley Street, just minutes from the M4 in the Berkshire countryside, is a traditional English pub and dining room owned by Nick and Michael Parkinson. We’re already well-known in the area for our traditional warm ambience and great selection of drinks and we’re now also establishing a reputation for our kitchen.

Word is spreading about our food, created by head chef Dominic Chapman. Dominic brings to the Royal Oak his philosophy of preparing the best seasonal produce very simply; we serve regularly changing lunch and dinner menus. In January 2008 we were awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Nick and his general manager Gherras Mo have taken care to retain the ‘pub’ atmosphere of The Royal Oak, so those coming for a drink will find a warm welcome too, and are invited to take a seat in one of the easy chairs and sofas and enjoy a pint, or a selection from our extensive wine list.

We also offer a large beer garden, with al fresco dining in warmer weather.

For further information please browse the website. For bookings please contact us on 01628 620 541.

The pub is open 11am –3pm and 6pm – 11pm Monday to Saturday, and midday – 4pm on Sundays.

The kitchen is open midday – 2.30pm and 6.30pm – 9.30pm Monday – Saturday (until 10pm Friday and Saturday).

Sunday lunch is served midday – 3.30pm.
