The Chauntry Scholarship, the first Computing Sciences Scholarship at the University of East Anglia (UEA), is due to be awarded for the first time in September 2016. The Scholarship is funded by Chauntry Ltd, the world’s leading supplier of parking reservation system to airports and parking operators, and is available to students who have applied to study a Computing Sciences course at UEA, with preference given to those who live in the SL6 postcode, where Chauntry Ltd is based. The Chauntry Scholarship aims to help a student who comes from a low-income household to be able to attend UEA and to develop the skills that have enabled Chauntry Ltd to develop into the business it is today.
Ray Vaughan, co-director and co-founder of Chauntry Ltd, said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer this scholarship to a student who otherwise may not have had the chance to study at UEA. As a business, we progress through the development of young people and their outlook on ever changing technology. We hope that this Scholarship will encourage bright young minds to develop their skills through the study of Computer Sciences.”
It is hoped that the scholarship will encourage students to apply to study a Computing Sciences course at UEA in the 2015/16 wave of applications.

“Chauntry’s support has allowed FC United to develop a youth team which otherwise would be beyond the reach of a club such as ours. This has enabled us to provide playing and educational opportunities and forge links with local colleges. This has resulted in a number of players coming through to the first team with many others going on to play semi-professional and professional football elsewhere. Football can be a marvellous vehicle for developing young people academically and socially.
Six of our young players have gained representative honours for England. Chauntry’s consistent support for FC United has given us the confidence to plan for continued and long term development in this area.” Andy Walsh, General Manager, FC United of Manchester
“For a number of years Chauntry has been a huge supporter of Age Concern Slough and Berkshire East and through their generous donations to the charity they fund the Cox Green Lunch Club based in Maidenhead. This club is a lifeline to older members of the Maidenhead community, providing a place where they can receive a hot lunch and enjoy mind and body stimulating activities and socialise with other members.
Lunch clubs play a big part in keeping older people healthy and active and helps to avoid social isolation, a key issue amongst some of the older generation. Without the very kind generosity of Chauntry, this lunch club would simply not exist and Age Concern Slough and Berkshire East would like to thank Chauntry for their long and continued support in helping us to help the community of Maidenhead – it’s fantastic to work with companies that really care as much as we do. Many thanks Chauntry!” Paula Grevett, Age UK
